TREADMILL TRACKER
Help & support
Updated: 2026-10-12
Start a workout
Enter the speed and incline set on your treadmill, then tap Start. Whenever you adjust the machine, update the app to match. The app does not control the treadmill.
Choose a program for timed speed and incline guidance with speech and haptics. Change the actual treadmill settings yourself. Units, weight and voice guidance can be changed in Settings. The app follows your iPhone’s preferred supported language (English or Japanese); you can change its language in iOS Settings.
Apple Watch guide (development version)
Watch linking is available in the Watch-enabled version currently in development. Install Treadmill on your paired Apple Watch. On iPhone, open Settings → Apple Watch Heart Rate Guide, choose a suitable target range and tap “Use this target range on Watch”. Enable “Link iPhone workouts with Watch”.
Wear and unlock your Watch. Open the Watch app once and review the requested Health permissions. Starting a workout on iPhone requests a workout on Watch. Confirm that Watch shows its workout screen and heart rate. Wearing Watch alone does not start continuous monitoring.
Enter treadmill speed and incline on iPhone. Pause, resume and finish from iPhone, then save the summary on iPhone. During a linked workout, Watch does not save a separate Apple Health workout. Heart data arriving later is added to the same workout record. Heart charts are kept in local history; restoring from Apple Health may restore only a summary.
If disconnected, iPhone keeps recording and Watch continues in its last received state. Stop commands may not reach Watch until reconnection. If needed, tap “End heart-rate measurement” on Watch and separately finish the workout on iPhone.
If heart rate is missing, open the Watch app and check fit, lock, Health permissions and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi. Configure a target range first and end any separate Watch workout. iPhone recording works on its own; disabling linking stops automatic Watch start requests.
For Watch-only workouts, start and finish on Watch. Do not separately start another workout on iPhone at the same time. The first two minutes are a warmup; guidance pauses when readings are unavailable. Your target range does not guarantee weight loss. Listen to your body and stop if you feel unwell.
Distance or calories differ from the machine
Distance is calculated from entered speed and time. Calories are estimated from weight, speed and incline using ACSM metabolic equations. The app does not measure distance with GPS or communicate with the treadmill.
After finishing, enter the distance shown on your treadmill to scale all segment speeds by the same ratio and recalculate calories. Make corrections before saving to Apple Health. Weight, handrail use, running or walking form, and the machine’s calculation method can also cause differences.
Cannot save to Apple Health
Enable Save to Apple Health in Settings or the workout summary, and allow write access to workouts, walking + running distance and active energy. Permission settings vary by iOS version.
If saving to Apple Health fails, local records remain available in History. Retry from workout details or Save unsaved workouts to Health in Settings.
Restore history after reinstalling
Before deleting the app, confirm that your workouts have been saved to Apple Health. After reinstalling, tap Restore workouts from Apple Health in Settings and allow read access to workouts, distance and active energy. Workouts not saved to Apple Health cannot be restored.
Restoration includes indoor walking and running workouts saved by this app. It does not import workouts from other apps. Older records, or records whose details cannot be read, may restore as summaries only.
If no workouts are found, check read permissions and Health synchronization. HealthKit does not let apps distinguish denied read access from missing data. When restoring on another device, first confirm your records are present in Apple Health.
Steps do not increase or voice guidance is silent
Step tracking uses motion features on supported iPhones. Check motion permission and carry your iPhone in a pocket or armband. Steps may not increase while the phone rests on the treadmill console.
For voice guidance, check the app’s Voice guidance setting, device volume and audio output, including Bluetooth devices.
Delete your data
Swipe left on a workout in History to delete it from the app. Apple Health records are managed separately; delete them in Apple Health if needed. Records remaining in Apple Health may be imported again during restoration. No account deletion process is needed because the app has no account registration.
Use safely
This app is for general workout recording and is not a medical device. Do not use it for diagnosis, treatment or medical decisions. Displayed distance and calories are estimates.
Use controls only when safe and follow your treadmill’s safety instructions. Stop exercising if you feel unwell.
